Off-grid electrical — practitioners, not vendors.
Nomad Energy is a one-person mobile shop run by someone who has been building off-grid electrical systems for mobile rigs for over ten years, and living out of one for most of that time.
I grew up taking things apart and putting them back together. I spent most of my twenties in the trade — learning how mobile electrical actually behaves, how the factory-installed systems in RVs are set up, where they break, and what a properly dialed-in system looks like when you're actually using it for six weeks at 9,200 feet.
Nomad Energy is the distillation of that decade. One operator, mobile shop vehicle, seasonal bases in Northern Nevada and the Yuma Foothills. The work is narrow by design — mobile rigs only, no cabins, no residential solar, no grid-tie. That narrowness lets us go deep on what we do build.
How we work, in four words.
Specialists
Not generalists. Off-grid mobile systems only. Vans, RVs, trailers, truck campers. That narrowness is why the work is good.
Practitioners
Not vendors. The rig that hauls the mobile shop runs the same systems we install for you. Summers in the Sierra, winters in the Sonoran. The systems we build are the systems we run.
Dialed-in
Not assembled. Every system designed to its envelope — your rig, your actual power profile, your actual use case. A 400 Ah bank that's sized for you is a different thing than a 400 Ah bank that's generic.
Educational
Not salesy. We'd rather explain what your system actually does and why than sell you features you don't need. If the right answer is a smaller system than you asked for, we'll say so.
Our focus is narrow by design. We build electrical systems for mobile rigs — vans, RVs, motorhomes, trailers. We don't do residential solar. We don't wire cabins. We don't do grid-tie work. If you're looking for any of that, we can recommend licensed installers we trust — but it's not what we build here.
If you're dialing in a rig for the long haul — whether that's boondocking summers in the Sierra, wintering in Yuma, or full-timing anywhere in between — we'd be glad to talk about it. The contact form routes messages directly to me. I reply personally, usually the same day during active season.
